About The Dog Learning Hub

Helping dog owners learn with confidence

The Dog Learning Hub is an online education platform created to help dog owners better understand their dogs through kind, practical and evidence-based learning.

We know that dog training and behaviour information can often feel confusing, conflicting or overwhelming. Owners may be told what to do without being helped to understand why their dog is behaving in a particular way.

The Dog Learning Hub was created to make reliable dog education easier to access, easier to understand and easier to use in everyday life.

Through guides, workbooks, webinars, courses and downloadable resources, we help dog owners build knowledge, confidence and a deeper understanding of their dogs.

Why We Created The Dog Learning Hub

We believe dog owners deserve clear, compassionate and trustworthy information.

Too often, advice focuses only on stopping unwanted behaviour without considering the dog’s emotions, health, environment, learning history or individual needs.

We wanted to create a place where owners could learn without judgement, pressure or confusing terminology.

A place where people can:

  • Understand why behaviour happens
  • Recognise what their dog may be communicating
  • Learn practical and achievable skills
  • Make informed decisions
  • Support their dog’s emotional and physical wellbeing
  • Grow in confidence at their own pace

Whether you are welcoming your first puppy, supporting a reactive or anxious dog, working on everyday training or simply wanting to understand dogs more deeply, you are welcome here.

Our Mission

Our mission is to make professional dog education accessible to everyday owners.

We aim to provide resources that are:

  • Kind
  • Practical
  • Easy to understand
  • Evidence-based
  • Welfare-led
  • Relevant to real life

We do not believe in quick fixes or one-size-fits-all advice.

Instead, we encourage thoughtful learning that considers the whole dog and the individual circumstances around them.

Our Approach

 Looking beyond the behaviour

Behaviour does not happen in isolation.

A dog’s behaviour may be influenced by:

  • Physical health and pain
  • Emotional state
  • Genetics and breed traits
  • Previous learning and experiences
  • Environment
  • Sleep and rest
  • Nutrition
  • Relationships
  • Access to choice and control
  • Their ability to cope in a particular situation

Rather than only asking:

How do we stop this behaviour?

We also encourage owners to consider:

Why might this be happening?

What is the dog feeling?

What might the dog need?

Is the dog able to cope?

What could make the situation feel safer or easier?

This whole-dog approach helps owners move away from simply correcting behaviour and towards understanding, supporting and teaching their dogs.

Kind, Welfare-Led Education

The welfare of dogs is at the centre of everything we create.

We support approaches that are:

  • Kind and ethical
  • Force-free
  • Evidence-informed
  • Appropriate for the individual dog
  • Focused on safety and emotional wellbeing
  • Realistic and achievable for owners

We do not promote fear, pain, intimidation or punishment as teaching tools.

Our aim is to help owners build understanding and practical skills while protecting trust between dogs and the people who care for them.

We also recognise that progress is not always linear.

Dogs are individuals. Circumstances change, setbacks happen and learning takes time. Our resources encourage patience, reflection and compassion for both dogs and their owners.

Our Values

Evidence

We value reliable information, ongoing learning and professional development.

Welfare

The physical and emotional wellbeing of dogs comes first.

Compassion

We support dogs and owners without blame or judgement.

Understanding

We look beyond the visible behaviour and consider the whole dog.

Practical Learning

We turn complex subjects into clear, useful and achievable guidance.

Amanda is a qualified dog trainer and Dynamic Dog Practitioner with a Level 3 qualification in Canine Care, Behaviour and Welfare. She is also a certified Reactivity Coach (Levels 1 & 2) through The Dog Trainer School and is committed to ongoing professional development.

Amanda has a particular interest in helping dogs who struggle with reactivity, inspired by her own experience of living and training with a reactive dog. She believes training should be kind, practical and tailored to the individual dog, helping owners build confidence and strengthen their relationship with their dog.

Through her supportive and encouraging approach, Amanda aims to make training enjoyable, achievable and rewarding for both dogs and their people.

  • Continuing our education
  • Reviewing resources as knowledge develops
  • Encouraging veterinary assessment when appropriate
  • Collaborating with other professionals
  • Recognising when personalised support is needed
  • Protecting dog and client welfare
  • Avoiding guarantees and unrealistic promises

Good professional practice is not about claiming to know everything.

It is about recognising limits, working collaboratively and keeping welfare at the centre of every decision.

Education and Personalised Support

The Dog Learning Hub helps you learn

Our guides, workbooks, webinars and courses provide general education to help owners:

  • Understand behaviour and communication
  • Learn training principles
  • Recognise signs of stress or discomfort
  • Improve management
  • Develop practical skills
  • Reflect on their dog’s needs

Personalised behaviour support may include:

  • A tailored behaviour plan
  • Ongoing professional support

Personalised help is particularly important where there is:

  • Growling, snapping or biting
  • Aggression towards people or animals
  • Sudden behaviour change
  • Suspected pain or illness
  • Resource guarding
  • Separation-related distress
  • Significant fear or anxiety
  • Risk involving children
  • Conflict between dogs
  • Escalating or unsafe behaviour

Our Vision

We want The Dog Learning Hub to become a trusted learning space that owners can return to throughout their dog’s life.

A place to:

  • Learn without judgement
  • Find clear and reliable information
  • Understand behaviour more deeply
  • Build practical skills
  • Reflect on progress
  • Discover new resources
  • Feel more confident supporting their dog

Our goal is not perfection.

It is better understanding, better decisions and stronger relationships between dogs and the people who care for them.

Learn More. Understand More. Grow Together.

We believe that understanding leads to better decisions, stronger relationships and happier lives for dogs and the people who care for them.

Thank you for being part of The Dog Learning Hub. We look forward to learning with you.
